They were originally named The Yardbirds to continue fulfilling performance dates before the original Yardbirds broke up. Soon after those concerts, a drummer by the name of Keith Moon suggested that they be called Led Zeppelin because he said that they would go over like a lead balloon.

By 1974 they owned their own label called Swan Song and soon after they became one of the biggest bands in the 1970s.
